Benefit Information sessions for new staff are generally held once a month, on the first Tuesday of each month.  During 2023 the first  session will take place on the 10th January 2023.  

These sessions cover the following topics which are of interest to new staff:

  • Retirement Benefits
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Healthcare Benefits and options

New staff and staff joining the retirement fund and medical aid for the first time are encouraged to attend a session prior to or as near as possible after their start date at UCT so that they can make informed decisions with regard to the benefits listed above.

The information sessions are held via the hybrid model (i.e both on campus in the Mafeje Room, Bremner Building, and via MS Teams) from 10h00 to 12h30.  You have the option to join via the most convenient method, but you are encouraged to attend the session on campus so you can meet your colleagues and the presenters.  Please inform the Appointments Office of which day you are able to attend so that a calendar invitation can be sent to you timeously.  The dates of the sessions are as follows:
